Fitness VR Game, Solo Project, C#, 2024

Deadlift is a spiritual successor to an older project I created by the name Sorcerer's Apprentice. Sorcerer's Apprentice was created with the use of Leap Motion hand tracking technology, exploring the idea of hand gestures as a modality for spell casting system. It was re-created for the Quest 3, under a new premise, a fitness game that combines spell casting with hand-tracking but also fitness through Quest 3's body tracking technology.

Deadlift aims to inspire people to get into fitness via an Arena Fighter, where players are invited to defeat waves of enemies by casting spells with their hand gestures. To regenerate mana and health however, players have to perform exercises, like push-ups or squats.

Meta Quest 3's innovative hand tracking technology allows for a fitness game that comes without the need for controllers. The player can move around and quickly get into a fitness position, like a squat, pushup or plank without restrictions. Excercise regenerates the players' Mana, that is consumed when casting spells.
